My Bullet Proof Coffee Recipe and Variations
I love my coffee, and if you haven’t tried the Bullet Proof Coffee yet, you need to. It will give you more energy than the standard cup of coffee. Here is my Bullet Proof Coffee Recipe:
There are many ways to prepare this. I’m going to show you a some ways I do it. The standard recipe uses butter and coconut oil. I found this MCT Oil Powder. What is MCT oil? MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides. It’s a delivery system to get fat into your diet if you are on a Low Carb or Ketogenic Diet. Your body uses two sources of fuel for energy. Glucose or Fat. On a Ketogenic Diet, your body makes a switch from using glucose as it’s main energy source to using fat. I made the switch because I was having too many problems with pain and inflammation in my body from eating grains. You can read My Story here.
You could also just use some butter and MCT Oil, or Coconut Oil. I don’t like the taste of coconut so I use the MCT oil instead, it has no flavor. Also, be sure to use unsalted butter. I have made the mistake of using salted before. It wasn’t a pleasant experience.
You can now sweeten it up even more with any sugar free syrups you’d like. I don’t think I ever had the same variation of coffee two days in a row. Sometimes each cup is different.
The secret to a good cup of bullet proof coffee is blending it. You can put it in a blender or be lazy like me and just use a simple hand held milk frother. You want it to look like what I have pictured here.
And that’s it! You just need coffee of your choice, fat of your choice and a sweetener of your choice, blend it all up and enjoy.
Try it different ways, and let me know how you like it. I’d love to hear from you. Leave a reply below.
